Full sun and warm climate, only grown in warmest seasons, hate temperatues below 15 degrees C, well-drained soils, low salinity ideal, mulch soil with nutrient-rich fertilizer prior to planting, supplement with small doses of mild fertilizer while growing, easily germinated and transplanted, plant seeds directly in garden soil when there's an extended warm weather season for cultivation, if short warm season then start seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before transition to warmth
